Named for one of his favorite Boundary Waters lakes, the Clearwater was designed by Darren, our owner. He noticedthat some paddlers were interested in trying a traditionalstyle paddle, but were a little nervous about having protection on the bottom of the blade. Working with graph paper and prototypes with Todd at Sanborn Paddles, after a few iterations they came up with the perfect balance between traditional feel in the water and protection at the bottom of the blade.

The Clearwater is light and perfectly balanced as it is handcrafted from cedar, with a light fiberglass cloth over the blade. It is available only from Rutabaga Paddlesports.
